BREAKING NEWS: Dolphins to start QB Tyler ‘Snoop’ Huntley Monday vs. Titans

Mike McDaniel has officially named Tyler Huntley the starting quarterback for Monday Night’s primetime matchup vs. the Tennessee Titans. #GoFins

It’s official!

The Miami Dolphins will be starting their 26th quarterback since Hall of Famer Dan Marino officially said goodbye back in the year 2000. This time, however, the quarterback that will be under center in shotgun has duel-threat capabilities and could ignite new life into a Dolphins’ offense that has struggled early on for much of the 2024 NFL season.

According to Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins will officially start veteran quarterback Tyler ‘Snoop’ Huntley for Monday Night’s primetime matchup vs. the Tennessee Titans.

Earlier this week, I gave my thoughts on why I thought Huntley should be MIami’s starting quarterback moving forward. Not only does he give Miami’s offense a spark with his ability to extend plays with his legs, but he’s honestly a better passer of the football than Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle. He also has familiarity with playing in big games, as McDaniel pointed out:

“Snoop will start… Everybody has their values. I think one that was supremely obvious to the team since he got here and even more so this practice week, is Snoop has started multiple and many big games. And as a quarterback, just understanding exactly what is required to win over teammates, to take the place of somebody else and assert their own personality, skillset, and traits within the offense and lead people… we’ve been very high on Snoop. High enough to give him a roster spot on the 53 with sight unseen… his maturation has been expedited by him. he’s done a great job assimilating into the locker room and understanding our language as our own. The team is excited for him.”

Huntley, 26, is 3-6 as a starter during his four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. During that time, he’s completed 64.6% of his passes for 1,957 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Snoop talked about how important it would be for him to start on Monday Night for his hometown team.

“That would be amazing, that’s just a child’s dream. Being able to play for your home team, man, that’s just something everybody doesn’t get to come across. So it would mean everything in the world, but I’m just here to help the team win.”

Ready or not, It’s Snoop Huntley Time in Miami!

What are your thoughts on Snoop Huntley getting the start vs. the Tennessee Titans? Was there ever any doubt in your mind? Do you think this is the spark the Dolphins offense needs to string together a few wins as the team patiently waits for Tua Tagovailoa to return? Let us know in the comments section below!
