Get in the win column.
I don’t even care who the Cincinnati Bengals are playing this week. It isn’t about the Carolina Panthers. It is about the Bengals. They need to get back to basics.
Consistency
Little mistakes have derailed this team because they have happened far too often, and for whatever reason, they have struggled to overcome setbacks. From coverage to tackling to blocking, they need to be consistent and execute on every snap.
Play from the Front
This team needs to dictate the game. That means taking the lead out of the gate. This will allow them to make the most of their offense and eventually take some of the running game heat off of their defense.
Win in the Red Zone
There have been enough field goals. When they get it down to the goal line, they need to punch it in. Defensively, they have got to buckle down and keep opponents out of the end zone. We have seen some tough plays from them in this area of the field, but they need to be able to string them together.
Win in the Turnover Game
The defense will have their struggles, but they need to force mistakes and create turnovers to make up for it.
Silence the Nonsense
0-3 gives the talking heads a lot to talk about, and I prefer my Talking Heads singing. The Bengals can’t listen to any of the outsiders trying to cast blame for where they are. They need to focus on doing their job.
