Dolphins add defensive line depth to practice squad.
While Miami Dolphins fans patiently waited for head coach Mike McDaniel to announce the team’s starting quarterback for Monday Night’s AFC matchup vs. the Tennessee Titans, General Manager Chris Grier was busy leaving no stone unturned in his search to find viable talent to bolster the roster.
On Wednesday, the team worked out free-agent defensive tackles Tyler Manoa and Neil Farrell. Today, the team announced they have agreed to terms with Farrell, signing him to the team’s practice squad.

Farrell, 26, played college ball at LSU, recording 144 tackles, 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and five pass breakups. He would later be drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth round (126th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. The 6’4, 324 product from Mobile, Alabama, would appear in nine games for the Raiders before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs before the start of the 2023 NFL season. In return, the teams would swap 2024 sixth-round picks.
Farrell would appear in three games for the Chiefs, including Super Bowl LVIII. Farrell Jr. would record one tackle and one pass breakup in the Chiefs 25-22 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He would be waived on August 27th, 2024, before ending up on the Chiefs practice squad.
He will now begin his campaign on Miami’s practice squad.
