Can the Dallas Cowboys get their season back on track
The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants kick off the Week 4 slate on Thursday Night Football. Both teams come into the game at 1-2 and will be looking to keep their seasons alive. A NFC East division win would go a long way for either team as each side hopes to avoid a 0-3 start.
For the Cowboys, this feels like a must-win game. After beating the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, the Cowboys have lost two straight. They lost big at home to the New Orleans Saints and then were down 28-6 to the Baltimore Ravens before mounting a comeback. The new-look defense under Mike Zimmer hasn’t had the start that many would have liked while the offense has lacked the thread of a run-game.
On the other side, the Giants also have a win against the Browns that came last week to get their first win of the season. Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers took over in that one with eight receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns. The Giants have been feisty the last few weeks, but the offense led by Daniel Jones still has question marks.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Cowboys are 5.5-point favorites to win on the road. Prescott is 12-0 all-time against the Giants and Dallas has won 13 of the last 14 in the series. With this being a Thursday night division game, there is potential that it remains close. The Cowboys have struggled on defense over the last two weeks, but the Giants don’t have the firepower on offense to consistently create explosive plays. This may be close heading into the fourth quarter, but the Cowboys should be able to pull away.
The Prediction: Cowboys (-5.5)
Season Record: 7-3
