Some notes
- The Chiefs listed four players on their report — wide receiver Rashee Rice (ankle), defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi (triceps), linebacker Nick Bolton (back) and cornerback Jaylen Watson (shoulder) — but all were full participants on Wednesday.
- Only Nnadi’s injury is a repeat listing from last week’s injury report, indicating that Xavier Worthy, Mike Pennel, Mike Danna and Nazeeh Johnson are no longer dealing with their ailments leading into Week 3’s game.
- Even with key injuries that see wide receiver Hollywood Brown and running back Isiah Pacheco out of action, Kansas City enters the game week much healthier than Los Angeles.
- For the Chargers, the injury list has to start with quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle), who was limited Wednesday thanks to his high ankle sprain. Herbert told reporters that there has been conversations about resting until Los Angeles’ bye week (Week 5), but he does not believe that is the way the team is heading. Herbert had to leave the team’s last game when his ankle was reaggravated. To make matters worse, wide receiver Joshua Palmer (elbow/calf) was also limited. Palmer missed the Chargers’ Week 3 matchup due to those injuries.
- If Herbert does push through to try to give it another go, he will likely do so without top-notch tackle protection, as left tackle Rashawn Slater (pectoral) and right tackle Joe Alt (knee) did not practice Wednesday and are already not expected to play.
- On defense, Los Angeles’ star pass rusher Joey Bosa (hip) had to leave last game early, and he also did not practice Wednesday. Safety Derwin James is not injured, but he is suspended for the game.
- Aside from the five players mentioned, the Chargers listed another eight players on their injury report.
