Not what you do when you lose…?
The Cincinnati Bengals are off to a disaster of an 0-3 start. Home losses to the New England Patriots and Washington Commanders have only fueled the fire of a fairly drama-filled offseason marred by contract disputes, trade requests, and questions from the media.
There also has been no shortage of talk from the locker room. Prior to the Bengals’ Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt didn’t mince words when talking about Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy, saying that basically all he could do was “run straight.”
Taylor-Britt hauled in an interception on a go route thrown to Worthy, so he sort of backed it up. Head coach Zac Taylor didn’t have much to say about it postgame.
Prior to Week 3, Taylor-Britt downplayed the Commanders offense, calling it a “nice college offense.”
That offense would go on to score 38 points on a reeling Bengals defense, with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels completed all but two of his passes to the tune of 254 yards and two touchdown passes.
After the game, Taylor was asked about his cornerback’s comments and sang a different tune.

“That’s not what we do,” said Taylor.
He continued to point out that the Commanders have now gone two weeks without a punt and spoke about how much he respected what they’re doing.
The issue is that this Bengals team has talked the talk for years now. In recent years, they’ve done a good job backing it up for the most part, but now it’s a problem?
Winning cures all. Hopefully, the Bengals will get one soon. Fans, players, and coaches all need it in the worst way.
