Rookie of the Week WR Malik Nabers, New York Giants. Nabers had another incredible showing again for the Giants, finding the end zone twice in the win over the Cleveland Browns. The first of those touchdowns was an incredible toe tap on the sideline, and he finished the game with an 85.0 PFF receiving grade.

Nabers, as a rookie, leads the league in target share (37.8 percent — more than five percent ahead of the next-highest receiver) and has the most receptions of 20 or more yards (six). Daniel Jones is averaging 0.52 EPA per play when throwing to Nabers and -0.20 EPA per play when targeting anyone else.

Nabers said Daboll understands he’s a “smart football player” and the receiver believes Daboll “sees something really special” in him. The rookie just wants to prove Daboll right.
“I believe he sees I can be one of the best in this league,” Nabers said.

With 23 receptions for 271 yards and three touchdowns, Nabers is the only player in the 105 years of the NFL to have at least 20 catches and at least three receiving touchdowns in his first three games.
“Just hard work,” Nabers said. “Dabs cooking up a lot of plays for me and the offense trusting me to get that done. Putting a lot of targets on my back, getting the ball in my hands. Just shows how much we want to be an explosive offense and I’m just a key factor in that offense.”

Giants estimate CB Adoree Jackson, CB Dru Phillips as non-participants Monday | Pro Football Talk
Cornerbacks Adoree Jackson (calf) and Dru Phillips (calf) were estimated as non-participants Monday.
Defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence (foot), inside linebacker Micah McFadden (back) and wide receiver Darius Slayton (thumb) were limited. Offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (thumb) and center John Michael Schmitz (neck) were full participants. The good news is left tackle Andrew Thomas was not on the report. He played all 72 snaps Sunday, but it appeared he injured his ankle.

“I think it was a big win for us,” said defensive tackle and captain Dexter Lawrence, who had 2.0 sacks and four quarterback hits. “We were making a lot of mistakes in the first two games. And the mindset in this game was just going out there and having fun, enjoying every moment that you have, and having intense focus every single snap that you have. And it showed out there.”
Boomer: Giants game ball goes to Shane Bowen defense | WFAN.com
“They were more aggressive than we had seen in the last two weeks,” Boomer said. “He supposedly has this bend-don’t-break, stop-the-run defense. That was an attack defense on Sunday. That’s the way you play defense. You get after the opposing quarterback…I want to give a game ball to Shane Bowens. The defense played that well.”

“The biggest thing is I think as an offense we found our identity in Washington,” Eluemunor said. “Just control the line of scrimmage — run the ball, throw it when we need to, use play action. I think the good teams find their identity early, and they’re able to weather the storm, which I feel like we have.”

Add Now: DL Hassan Ridgeway. Outside of Dexter Lawrence, the Giants’ defensive tackles are pretty underwhelming. Ridgeway isn’t a game-changer by any means, but those types of players aren’t available at this stage, and he could at least give the defense another experienced option to turn to.

In the past two games, opposing quarterbacks have had eight incomplete passes against the Cowboys. Lamar Jackson missed on only one pass in the first half because he was under pressure. Because the Cowboys can’t stop the run, they can’t generate a pass rush because other teams not facing a lot of third-and-long situations. Quarterbacks are having a field day.
Dak: Offense lacked ‘professional’ approach vs. Ravens | DallasCowboys.com
Maybe that was the case for the Cowboys, especially for Dak Prescott, who admitted he didn’t have his best practice on Thursday and it led to an erratic day for the offense.
“I didn’t have a great practice. I believe it was Thursday. I even told Coach (Mike McCarthy) I said, I feel better when it’s me. I can control it, I can get over it. I’ll make that change and that difference,” Prescott said. “But it’s also a sense of got to make sure that other people are doing what they’re supposed to be doing. Make sure that other people aren’t maybe dwelling on a practice rep, myself included.”

But with Dallas losing depth up front in the offseason, and with Zimmer’s scheme and personality differing so completely from those of Quinn, there was risk, too.
“Here is the problem for Zimmer,” an opposing coach said. “Everything was positive all the time with Quinn. Now, it feels like everything is negative. He is coming into a place that has been so successful on defense that the last coordinator got a head-coaching job. The new guy comes in and tries to change things, and the players sometimes say, ‘Wait a minute, we won 12 games last year.’ This can become a tailspin.”
