Doubleheader tonight with three AFC teams playing.
We close out Week 3 of NFL football with a doubleheader of what could be considered “mid” games, as the Bills (- 250) host the Jaguars (+ 205) and the Bengals (- 350) host the Commanders (+ 260). Both games appear one-sided at least on the betting odds, with the spread at 5.5-points in favor of the Bills and 7-points in favor of the Bengals.
The Bills are looking much better than expected starting off the season 2-0 and fresh off a dominant win against the Miami Dolphins last Thursday. Josh Allen looks like my dream AR scenario and the offense looks much more balanced than last year, while the defense did not lose a step.
The Jags are 0-2 and coming off a devastating loss against the Browns, Trevor Lawrence continues looking like an average quarterback at best, and while the defense is solid once again, they can only do so much.
The Bengals were really close, just a bad call away, from beating the Chiefs away from their home, but instead are looking at an 0-2 deficit. This team just does not look as functional as prior seasons and their timeline is really weird as they have a superstar quarterback in Joe Burrow.
The Commanders won a rivalry game against the Giants led by a running game that got over 200 yards, a kicker that made seven kicks, and a lucky injury to the Giants’ starting kicker early in the game. They became the only team to win a game where they got scored by 3 or more touchdowns.
This slate of games look really tough to figure out, but the favorites just look like way too much better than their counterparts. Of course since it is the NFL we are talking about upsets are bound to happen, even more so after I just said that the favorites look good.
