Both teams are 1-2
The New York Giants are currently 4.5-point underdogs at home vs. the Dallas Cowboys for Thursday’s prime time matchup at MetLife Stadium, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
Both teams will enter the game 1-2. The Giants are, of course coming off their first victory of the year as they went on the road Sunday to defeat the Cleveland Browns, 21-15.
The Cowboys are coming off back-to-back losses at home. After a season-opening 33-17 victory over the Browns, things have gone sideways for Dallas. They lost to the New Orleans Saints, 44-20, in Week 2. Then, Sunday, they were beaten 28-25 by the Baltimore Ravens. They trailed at one point, 28-6.
The Cowboys manhandled the Giants twice last season. Dallas won the season opener at MetLife Stadium, 40-0, and then a Week 10 game in Dallas, 49-17.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Monday he is not concerned about last season’s results.
“I think each individual person is motivated by different things. And my main focus is getting ready to play this team, 2024, the team that’s just played these first three games. Different players, different schemes, making sure that we’re prepared,” Daboll said. “Doing a good job in our walkthroughs, in our meetings, in our communication. But our focus is on task at hand.
“We’ve got a short week, and we’ve got not much time to get ready. So that’s where my focus is.”
