Your Sunday Night football open thread
The third Sunday of the 2024 NFL season will feature the Kansas City Chiefs traveling to take on the Atlanta Falcons.
The 2-0 Chiefs come into the game as scant 3-point favorites per FanDuel Sportsbook following an injury to RB Isaiah Pacheco — in the wake of Marquise “Hollywood” Brown’s preseason shoulder injury. The Falcons, meanwhile, are 1-1 following a Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and a tight last-second win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Chris’ pick: I actually wouldn’t be surprised if the Falcons got the upset win here. Their offense has had some time to gel and the coaching staff seems to have figured out that Kirk Cousins does well with play-action. The Chiefs, meanwhile, are beat up and missing both Isaiah Pacheco and Hollywood Brown.
However, I just can’t bring myself to pick against Pat Mahomes, regardless of the situation.
