Giants reportedly get some good news
New York Giants star edge defender Brian Burns is expected to play Sunday afternoon against the Cleveland Browns. Brown was on Friday’s injury report with a groin injury, and was given a ‘questionable’ designation.
Burns’ apparently reported groin tightness on Friday, so the Giants limited him in that day’s practice.
Acquired by the Giants in a splashy offseason trade, Burns made the Pro Bowl twice in his first five seasons. He has yet to make an impact on defense for the Giants, with just seven tackles and no quarterback hits.
The Giants other edge defender, Kayvon Thibodeaux, was limited in practice on Friday with a shoulder injury. He did not carry an injury designation, though, meaning he is expected to play.
Cleveland downgraded offensive tackle Jack Conklin to out for Sunday’s game. Conklin played just 22 snaps last season before suffering a knee injury. He has been working his way back and was thought to be close to returning, but now has a hamstring injury.
The Browns might get offensive tackle Jedrick Wills back. Wills is also working back from a 2023 knee injury and has not played yet this season. He is listed as questionable.
