The Eagles WR stayed down after a huge hit in New Orleans, but thankfully was able to walk off under his own power.
[UPDATE]: It didn’t take long for the Eagles to announce that DeVonta Smith would miss the remainder of the Saints game due to a concussion. The WR now joins Lane Johnson in the protocol.

In a game with several injuries in the first half, the Eagles suffered another huge hit early in the fourth quarter when DeVonta Smith took a big hit, and stayed on the ground. It was a scary scene for a few minutes as the WR was tended to, but thankfully he was able to stand up and walk off the field.
A lot of concern for DeVonta Smith after that violent hit. pic.twitter.com/3TJEA4QIL2

A.J. Brown is still working his way back from a hamstring injury, and missed his second game in a row. Britain Covey was ruled out after suffering a shoulder injury in the first half against the Saints. And now, with Smith looking like the next WR sidelined, that group that had thin depth heading into the season. is even worse through just three games.
The team did elevate Parris Campbell from the practice squad the past two games, and it was a good decision with the receiver seeing snaps in New Orleans. There’s also Jahan Dotson for depth, but two weeks in a row the coaching staff has lauded Dotson’s route running and blamed his lack of targets on his spot in the progression.
Having the best WR duo in the NFL — Brown and Smith — doesn’t really mean a whole lot if they’re both on the sideline. Sorting out what kind of sustainable depth this group can have will be critical. It is a long season, after all, and we’re already seeing an issue in Week 3.
