The latest news on who’s in and who’s out.
The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their 2024 NFL Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints.
The following Eagles players WILL NOT PLAY: A.J. Brown, Devin White, Tanner McKee, Darian Kinnard, Trevor Keegan, Byron Young, and Eli Ricks.
The big news is that C.J. Gardner-Johnson is ACTIVE despite being ruled questionable on the final injury report. CJGJ missed the Eagles’ Thursday and Friday practices due to a foot injury. CJGJ will be playing against the Saints for the first time since they traded him to Philly in 2022. If CJGJ can’t make it through the game, we could see Avonte Maddox playing safety next to Reed Blankenship. In that event, Cooper DeJean might see playing time as the nickel cornerback.
Brown is missing his second straight game. Maybe he’ll be able to play in Week 4? The Eagles might just want to keep him out until they return from their Week 5 bye.
White is a healthy scratch again.
Under the NFL’s third quarterback rule, McKee is only allowed to play if both Jalen Hurts AND Kenny Pickett leave the game due to injury.
Kinnard and Keegan are healthy scratches with eight other offensive lineman active ahead of them.
Young is a healthy scratch as the sixth defensive tackle.
Ricks is a healthy scratch for the second week in a row.
Jack Stoll is active for his first game this season after being temporarily elevated from the practice squad. The Eagles bumped him up instead of E.J. Jenkins.
