Come on, I know there has got to be something!
There has been very little to celebrate through the first two weeks of the 2024 L.A. Rams’ campaign. Injuries have ravaged LA and morale is low following a 31-point loss to the Cardinals on Sunday. Despite the 0-2 start, there must be something to be optimistic about, even if you have to really go digging for it.
In Tuesday’s column, I said that the Rams could kiss their season goodbye if they were to lose to the 49ers in Week 3. Slipping to 0-3 typically puts a damper on a team’s postseason chances. Of course, I’m not always the most optimistic person in the world, so what the hell do I know?
Anyway, there is some hope that Los Angeles could defy the enormous odds against them.
Heading into the home opener against San Francisco, Deebo Samuel will be sidelined and the Whiners could also be without Nick Bosa, George Kittle and top cornerback Charvarius Ward. A win over a hated rival is exactly what LA needs to get this season (somewhat) back on track.
Forget all the offensive line injuries, missing Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp and Kyren Williams underachieving to start the year. Yes, there are several other issues but I won’t put all of them here as I’m trying to be positive dammit! Sean McVay will have a plan and no one should count out the Rams just yet, myself included. When will I learn?
Turf Show Ramily, you’re on the clock. What is giving you optimism amid the team’s winless start? C’mon, I know there’s got to be something. It could even be alcohol-related, but seriously, anything will do. Let me know in the comments!
