Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel shared that QB1 will be flying with the team to Seattle on Friday.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is traveling with the team for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, just eight days after suffering a concussion in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills. Coach Mike McDaniel confirmed Friday that Tagovailoa will make the nearly 3,000-mile trip to Seattle with the team.
The Dolphins placed Tagovailoa on injured reserve on Tuesday, meaning he’ll miss at least four games before returning to the field. That said, coach McDaniel has repeatedly said there’s no timeline for Tagovailoa’s return to the field.

Miami’s franchise quarterback has remained in the mix at the facility, helping quarterbacks Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley prepare for the Seahawks.
“Man, I’ve been here 24 hours; I’ve probably spent a good little hour or two with Tua in the meeting rooms a little bit and then walkthrough,” Huntley said Wednesday. I’ve just been talking to him and trying to get his grasp of the offense. He’s great. He’s great.”
“He’s given me some really great advice and has been a great sounding board for me,” Thompson said. “And if I have questions or something pops up that, ‘Hey, like Tua, how’d you handle this or how’d you do this?’ He’s so quick to give me answers and to do anything to help me, and I’m very, very thankful for Tua because obviously, with the situation, I think it just speaks volumes about the person that we already know who he is.
“But it’s special and I’m thankful to have him around with me because it gives me confidence to have him around.”
Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals is the earliest Tagovailoa can be activated and return to action. It’s a positive sign to see Tagovailoa involved with the team during his recovery, but we’ll have to see how his progress unfolds before any firm return date can be set.
This is encouraging: Tua, Mostert and Jonnu and families went to Disney event the night after Buffalo game concussion and he showed no visible signs of having been concussed, per Mostert.
