Some help on offense.
After an 0-2 start, the Cincinnati Bengals got back to work ahead of their Monday Night Football matchup with the Washington Commanders.
The injury report shows some signs of positive news for the Bengals, but still with some concerning absences.
Joe Burrow was again on the report with a right wrist injury, but was a full participant. He will continue to show up on the report if he receives any treatment at all on his wrist.
Perhaps the best news of the day was wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) returning to practice. Higgins was listed as limited on Thursday. Barring any setbacks, Higgins should be on track to make his season debut on Monday night.
Rookie defensive tackle Kris Jenkins (thumb) also returned to practice with his hand in a club-style wrap. When speaking to the media Thursday, Head Coach Zac Taylor said they would see what Jenkins is capable of during the week. He was limited to start the week.
First-round offensive tackle Amarius Mims (pectoral) was also limited.
Defensive tackles B.J. Hill and Sheldon Rankins both missed Thursday’s practice with their respective hamstring injuries. The extra day of rest could help them, but signs point to the Bengals possibly missing both in Week 3.
Tanner Hudson (knee) was also a non-participant as he works back from a knee injury suffered in Week 1.
Veteran safety Vonn Bell (back) was also limited, but there are no signs of concern coming from the facility, same for tight end Mike Gesicki (calf) who was also limited.
For the Commanders, the only key players out Thursday were defensive end Clelin Ferrell (knee), Emmanuel Forbes (thumb), and Jer’Zhan Newton (foot).
