Otherwise, Giants seem healthy
Cornerback Nick McCloud, continuing to deal with a knee injury, is the only member of the New York Giants 53-man roster who did not practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Brian Daboll.
McCloud did not play in the Giants’ 21-18 Week 2 loss to the Washington Commanders.
Rookie linebacker Darius Muasau, who also sat out the Week 2 games with a knee injury, returned to practice.
The Giants put placekicker Graham Gano (hamstring) on injured reserve this week and replaced him with seven-year veteran kicker Greg Joseph.
“We thought he was the best option for us,” Daboll said of Joseph, who has made 100 of 121 field-goal attempts (82.6%) in his career.
This week, it is the Giants’ opponent — the Cleveland Browns — who appear to be dealing with some significant injury issues.
The Browns are likely to be without Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku, who suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys and did not play in Cleveland’s Week 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Cleveland is also struggling with health at offensive tackle. Starters Jedrick Wills and Jack Conklin were both out in Week 2, and right tackle Dawand Jones also missed Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury.
