An extra day of rest could help.
Following their heartbreaking 26-25 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor spoke to the media Monday and gave updates on some key Bengals injuries.
Ahead of their Monday Night Football matchup with the Washington Commanders, Taylor said he believes wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) is moving in a “positive direction.”
Higgins was on the field warming up this past Sunday, so hopefully an extra day of rest can help Higgins get back on the field Monday night.

The Bengals’ defensive line has been ravaged by injuries since training camp, and unfortunately, this continued into Sunday. BJ Hill and Sheldon Rankins were both knocked out of Sunday’s contest with hamstring injuries.
When Taylor was asked about the severity of both injuries, Taylor said there was no update as of now.
Hamstrings for both Sheldon Rankins & B.J. Hill – no word yet on the severity.

As for rookie defensive tackle Kris Jenkins, Taylor said he is still working on his back from a recent thumb surgery but didn’t offer much of a timeline for when we could see Jenkins on the field.
Run defense was a big issue for the Bengals in 2023 and after giving up 319 rushing yards over two games this season, it is looking like it could be a problem again. Help on the interior defensive line is needed, and hopefully, it will be on the horizon.
