This evening’s Sunday Night Football matchup features a rematch from this summer’s Hall Of Fame game. The obvious difference, besides the game being held on a neutral field and not counting, is that this game will feature both team’s starters. One of the two teams this evening, the Chicago Bears, feature the number one pick in this year’s draft, starting quarterback Caleb Williams. Williams won his first start in the NFL last week despite throwing for only 93 yards and leaving the game with a poor 55.7 quarterback rating.
This evening, the team on the other side of the ball will be the Houston Texans. Many pre-season predictions have the Texans as the AFC representative in the upcoming Super Bowl. Much of the optimism surrounding the Texans comes from the play last year of their then-rookie quarterback CJ Stroud. Stroud burst onto the scene, throwing for over 4,000 yards with 23 touchdowns against only 5 interceptions, giving him an excellent quarterback rating of 100.8 for the season. Stroud picked up right where he left off, throwing for 234 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions last weekend for a great QB rating of 115.9.

Chicago Bears (1-0) 1st NFC North @ Houston Texans (1-0) 1st AFC South
- Kickoff: 8:20 p.m. EST, Sunday, September 8th
- Location: NRG Stadium, Houston, Texans
- TV Broadcast: NBC
- Odds: Houston Texans -6.5; Over/Under 45.5 (via FanDuel sportsbook)
—My Pick: The Texans will cover despite the line being nearly a touchdown. Despite their victory last week, the Bears are still struggling on offense despite many solid off-season additions. While Chicago is a team that seems to be building in the right direction, their time is not yet here. The Texans are on the other hand an acceding team that should only build on the success that they and starting quarterback CJ Stroud had last season.
