Sean McVay reacts to the Rams getting demolished by the Cardinals

The Los Angeles Rams just lost to the Arizona Cardinals 41-10 and fell to 0-2 on the season. This was a division game so LA is now even more behind in terms of a playoff race. Head coach Sean McVay gave his post-game press conference and it was fairly brief. The head coach didn’t have much to say, but talked about needing to find answers for their team this week. He also stated that he was not going to “pout about this shit.”

McVay’s closing remarks:

“This is the NFL. These are situations that unfortunately we have been in before, and I’ve gotta do a good job of figuring out how to navigate that and make sure that we’re proud of controlling the things that we can control, maximizing the situation and the circumstances that we’re placed in and…this is not a fun place to be in. As a competitor you guys know me, I mean this chaps me to no end…but it doesn’t do any good to sit here and dwell on it. What I’m not gonna do is pout about this shit. Alright? I’m gonna figure out how can I go respond in a manner that’s reflective of what I ask of our guys, and that’s exactly what guys are gonna see.”

It was a brutal loss for the McVay and the Rams, it could define the season, but it doesn’t have to. The Rams still have time, however after a game like that observers will have more questions about the Rams than answers. In one week LA went from a team that looked like they could overcome any circumstance to a team that may already be too beat up to have high expectations.

The reality is McVay knows that his team has 15 games left including another NFC West division game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3. McVay is right. He doesn’t have time to dwell on it, and neither do the Rams. Do they have enough time to recover and at the very least put out something to be proud of by next week? Or will the team have more to pout about come then?
