Can Caleb Williams bounce back on Sunday Night against the Texans?
The 2023 second overall pick will go up against the 2024 first round pick on Sunday Night football as the Chicago Bears. It will be the first time that CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams will go up against each other in the NFL and this one will be under the lights of primetime.
Stroud and the Texans are considered a primary contender for the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC this season. Houston started the year with a win against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 with Stroud throwing for 234 yards and two touchdowns. New wide receiver Stefon Diggs only had one reception for six yards and will be looking to get more involved in the passing game. However, Joe Mixon had a fantastic debut with 159 rushing yards.
Caleb Williams threw for less than 100 yards in his debut in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. He was inaccurate and lacked any rhythm. The rookie also took a few negative plays trying to make something happen. However, the most important part was that he didn’t turn over the football and put the Bears in position to lose. The Texans won’t make things any easier for Williams on Sunday Night.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook the Texans are 5.5 point favorites against the Bears. The Bears are much improved, especially defensively than they were a year ago. That could force this game to remain close. Still, the Texans should be able to force Williams into mistakes and pull away late. Expect the Texans to win by a touchdown.
The Pick: Texans (-5.5)
Season Record: 2-2
