Let’s get you set up for today’s game!
Welcome to game day, folks! We’re just a few hours away from kickoff as your Minnesota Vikings will play their 2024 home opener today at U.S. Bank Stadium against the reigning and defending NFC champs, the San Francisco 49ers. Let’s get you set up with everything you need to watch today’s game.
Television Info
This game will kick off at the agreed-upon best time for NFL action to get underway, that being noon Central time on Sunday. This week’s game will be broadcast by CBS, which is WCCO-4 in the Twin Cities, with the play-by-play being handled by the great Kevin Harlan alongside Trent Green. Below is the broadcast map from the good folks at 506 Sports, with the blue area representing where the 49ers/Vikings game will be the local broadcast.
If your local affiliate isn’t airing the game, you can find it on YouTube TV Sunday Ticket.
For our men and women in uniform serving overseas, the American Forces Network will be airing this one LIVE on AFN Sports. Kickoff is slated for 1700Z, which equates to 1900L for everyone in Central Europe, 2000L for those on Arabian Time, and 0200L on Monday morning for fans in Japan and Korea.
Radio Info
If you have a Vikings Radio Network affiliate in your area, most of them will probably be carrying the game. We’ve provided you with the full list of affiliates for this season, so use our page to find the affiliate nearest to you.
For those of you who are going to use satellite radio to listen to this one, you can find the feed from the Vikings Radio Network on SiriusXM Channel 231. You can listen to the Giants’ feed on Channel 386 if you feel compelled to do so for whatever reason. If you’re using the SiriusXM app, the Vikings’ permanent home there is on Channel 820.
Referee Info
According to the folks from Football Zebras, the officiating crew for this week’s game will be headed up by Brad Allen. The Vikings last saw Allen in October of last year, as his crew handled the Vikings’ 19-13 victory over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
Weather Info
This game won’t be affected by the elements or anything, given that it will take place inside the beautiful confines of U.S. Bank Stadium, but if you’ll be partaking in any action beforehand it should be a great day for it according to our friends from WeatherNation. There will be some patchy fog in the morning, but it will burn off to give us a temperature of right around 80 degrees under partly cloudy skies by the time things kick off.
Betting Info
According to the folks from FanDuel, the Vikings continue to be a 5.5-point underdog heading into this one. The over/under for today’s game is set at 46.5 points.
Streaming Info
If your local affiliate is not carrying the game, remember that the Sunday Ticket package now rests with YouTube TV. If you’re in the local area and have cut the cord, you should be able to find it on a service such as Fubo TV or Sling TV.
I’ll say the same thing about illegal streams that I always say: don’t. Or damn sure don’t go advertising them here. You’ll be banned and that will be the end of it.
Post-Game Info
Due to other commitments, there will not be a live post-game show from Vikings Report this week. We will be back with a post-game show after next week’s game.
That should be everything you need in order to follow along with all of the action of today’s regular season home opener between your Minnesota Vikings and the San Francisco 49ers. As always, we’ll have Open Threads for each quarter, with the first one dropping approximately half an hour before kickoff.
