The Bengals look to bounce-back in a tough game against the Chiefs, but regardless of the result, there may some lucrative ways to make your weekend fruitful via FanDuel.
The season started off unfavorably for the Cincinnati Bengals, as they dropped their 2024 home and season-opener to the New England Patriots. A number of self-inflicted mistakes led to them losing a winnable game, and they are now forced to rebound quickly against the vaunted Kansas City Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes and Co. are at home once again and off of a mini-bye after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL-opening Thursday night affair. Though Kansas City and Cincinnati aren’t divisional foes, their recent history has built a rivalry akin to the hatred seen within the AFC North.
Regardless of the end result, there are some ways to make some money through sports betting and FanDuel Sportsbook, which currently has the Bengals as 5.5-point underdogs. Here are some intriguing options to eye this week.
Ja’Marr Chase two or more touchdowns (+1200)
This is a swing-for-the-fences bet, but call it a hunch. Chase has had choice words once again for the Chiefs and has the attitude of a player with an edge this week. He also had food poisoning prior to the game last week, so he should be all good to go this Sunday afternoon.
In five games against the Chiefs (two in the postseason), Chase has garnered 33 catches for 533 yards and four touchdowns. He’s achieved this prop bet once as a rookie against Kansas City, grabbing three touchdowns at a regular season win at Paycor (then Paul Brown Stadium).
End Score— Bengals 26, Chiefs 24 (+20,000) or Chiefs 26, Bengals 23 (+12,000)
With the exception of last year’s end-of-year clash with Jake Browning under center, the four previous contests with Joe Burrow at the helm all ended with a three-point point differential. To boot, all of those four ranged from the mid-20s to the low-30s in points scored by each team, regardless of the venue.
Again, this is a risky bet, but it could pay off in a big way. For instance, if you were to bet the Bengals winning 26-24, a simple $5 bet would net you $1,000.
Joe Burrow 250+ Passing Yards (+118)
This one is a bit safer than the other two. It’s rare that Burrow has poor back-to-back games, and while he made some questionable reads in Week 1, he had touchdown passes in the bag for Mike Gesicki (drop) and Tanner Hudson (fumble). Those plays being converted would have had a bigger impact on his stat line and, potentially, in the win-loss column.
Tee Higgins may not play again, but a determined Chase, an additional week of work to work out kinks, and improved offensive line play shown last week should help Burrow eclipse this mark.
Zach Moss First Touchdown Scorer (+750)
The Bengals may lean on the run a tiny bit more in this one, taking notes for what was working later in the game against the Patriots. Moss scored in that one, and it’s very possible the Bengals take a methodical opening drive and cap it with a short-yardage Moss touchdown.
