Safety Julian Blackmon has been listed as OUT for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers due to a shoulder injury. Blackmon has been unable to practice all week with the shoulder injury he appears to have sustained in the game against the Texans. With Blackmon being ruled out expect either Rodney Thomas or newly re-signed Rodney Harrison to start in his place. If it’s Thomas then Nick Cross will stay at strong safety but if it is Harrison then Cross will shift over to free safety.
Wide receiver Josh Downs is listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday’s game against the Packers with an ankle injury. Downs has been limited at practice all week due to an ankle injury he sustained during training camp. Downs has ramped up his rehab this week being able to practice although it has been limited. If Downs is unable to play this week expect rookie Adonai Mitchell to get the start in his place again.
Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner is listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday’s game against the Packers with a back injury. Buckner injured his back against the Texans late in the game and has been unable to practice all week. Buckner appears to be a true game time decision. If he is unable to play expect a rotation of Taven Bryan and Adetomia Adebawore at the 3-tech position.
Defensive end Kwity Paye is listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday’s game against the Packers with a hamstring injury. Paye has missed two practices this week but did manage to participate today although it was limited. If Paye is unable to play Sunday expect Tyquan Lewis to start in his place at defensive end.
