Former 1st-round pick has a chance to be signed from practice squad soon
The Las Vegas Raiders signed veteran pass-rusher K’Lavon Chaisson to the practice squad this week.

Size:
6-3, 254 pounds.
NFL experience:
He was the No. 20 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played 57 games with 11 starts in four seasons with the Jaguars. He had five career sacks. The Jaguars declined his fifth-year option and Chaisson, 25, became a free agent. He signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers in March. They released him last week.
College:
He was a standout at LSU. He was the Defensive MVP of 2019 Peach Bowl, his final college game. He forego his final two years of college eligibility.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
He has a chance to be quickly promoted from the practice squad. While he hasn’t been a dynamic pas-rusher, the Raiders need help at defensive end and ha has solid NFL experience. With Malcolm Koonce and Tyree Wilson injured, the Raiders have need as Maxx Crosby, Janarius Robinson and Charles Snowden are currently their only healthy defensive ends.
