Dylan McMahon was picked by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s now a member of the LA Rams.
Amidst a rash of injuries along the offensive line, the Los Angeles Rams are adding reinforcements. They’ve signed interior lineman Dylan McMahon off the practice squad of the Philadelphia Eagles. McMahon was selected by Philly in the sixth round of the most recent NFL Draft.
LA needs all the help it can get on their offensive line. Second-year lineman Steve Avila is likely headed for injured reserve with a MCL injury and could miss four to six weeks. RT Rob Havenstein might be back this week after missing the season opener against the Detroit Lions. Kevin Dotson was seen after Sunday night’s game in a walking boot, and his status for this weekend’s contest against the Arizona Cardinals is up in the air. LT Alaric Jackson is suspended the first two games while his backup, Joe Noteboom, suffered an ankle injury on the opening draft against Detroit.
The reaction by Eagles fans on the social media platform X was stark. Philadelphia faithful seemed upset to be losing a recent draft choice and a developmental player along the offensive line—and this is probably a good sign for the Rams.
Here are some reactions I came across by Eagles fans and media members:
Eagles are losing Dylan McMahon to the Rams.
That’s the risk you take when placing a player on the practice squad.
Philadelphia selected McMahon with the 190th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. https://t.co/Mxcw0EvWtw

The Eagles have lost 6th-round pick C Dylan McMahon to the Los Angeles Rams as he goes from the Eagles practice squad to the Rams active roster.
Eagles always have great OL depth, I had McMahon even making my final 53-man.
Congrats to McMahon getting his shot!#FlyEaglesFly

Former Eagles OL and 2024 6th rd pick Dylan McMahon to the Rams sucks

The Eagles being willing to expose Dylan McMahon to waivers during final cuts was interesting.
Between the active roster and practice squad, the Eagles still have 12 OL in Philadelphia.
While the optics of losing McMahon aren’t great, it likely won’t have much of an impact.

Not sure what the eagles were thinking with this one. They should realize how highly the rest of the league probably looks at their ability to evaluate o line talent.

He looked really good as the backup C. This is a loss

Good luck to him. I feel like the best thing for him might have been to stay in Philly and learn under stout and the vets on the OL. Eagles call up Practice Squad Lineman all the time. Good luck to you Dylan. Hope to see you in the midnight green again one day.

Knew this would happen. Was surprised he even made it back to our PS.
Good luck to him in LA.
