Our Miami Dolphins will finally kick off their 2024 season schedule with a game against their interstate rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Miami is coming off another season that saw them make it to the postseason, but the rash of injuries, especially on the defensive side of the ball, took their toll on the team down the stretch. The issues caused by the injuries carried over to the postseason, seeing the Dolphins go one and done for the second year in a row in an ugly and unreasonably cold loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead. Miami will be looking to stay healthier through this season and achieve a record that will hopefully provide them with a playoff game or games at home.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking for a bounce-back season following their disappointing 2023 season. After starting the season with an eight-and-three record in their first eleven games, the Jags dropped five of their final six games, killing their playoff hopes. As Miami did with starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the Jaguars also gave their starting quarterback, Trevor Lawerence, a massive new deal this past offseason. In comparison, Tua was handed a 212 million dollar 4-year contract extension, while Trevor was given a 275 million dollar 5-year extension.
