We asked, and you answered. Will Tyreek Hill break the single-season receiving yards record in 2024?
Our SB Nation Reacts poll results ahead of Week 1 are here. This week, we asked you for your thoughts on the direction of the Miami Dolphins, whether wide receiver Tyreek Hill will set the NFL single-season receiving yards record, and which newly acquired player will have the best season for the Dolphins this year.
You can check out the results from the poll below. We will be back next week to see how the fan confidence poll is impacted by the Dolphins’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars along with a couple of other items of interest for the week.

Are you confident in the direction of the Dolphins?
Last week, we asked the same question to get an idea of where your confidence rating for Miami was as the preseason ended. Only 69 percent of the fans responded they were confident in Miami’s direction. Now, a week later and with no games played, 85 percent of the Dolphins fans said they were confident in the direction of the team.
We will chalk up the previous rating to the poll running over a weekend and a smaller sample size. Having 85 percent of the fan base feeling optimistic about the Dolphins is more in line with where the team is. These results will give us a good baseline for how fan confidence ebbs and flows during the season.
Will Tyreek Hill break the NFL single-season receiving yards record?
Last season, Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill pushed to be the first receiver to surpass the 2,000-yard receiving mark. He was on pace for part of the season, but injuries slowed him down, though he still led the league with 1,799 yards – the seventh most in league history.
Coming into 2024, Hill has made comments that he still wants to be the first to reach the 2,000-yard mark. Instead of focusing on that milestone, however, we wanted to see if you thought Hill could break Hall of Fame Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson’s 2012 single-season record of 1,964 receiving yards. And, clearly, you do not think he will get there.
Just over one-quarter of the fan base thinks Hill will reach Johnson’s record. Is that a measure of just how incredible Johnson’s 2012 season was? Are Dolphins fans expecting a more balanced passing attack from the team, spreading the receptions around more in 2024 than the Hill-focused 2023 scheme? It seems interesting that only 27 percent of the fans think Hill can make a charge to the record.
Which player addition will have the best season for the 2024 Miami Dolphins?
Note: The poll incorrectly identified one of the Dolphins’ newcomers as cornerback Kyle Fuller, when it should have been Kendall Fuller. The poll results seemed to indicate the fans understood who it should have been and voted accordingly. The graphic created for the results, however, listed Fuller as “Kyle” due to the question being wrong. The results are below without the graphic.
The 2024 Dolphins are coming off two straight postseason appearances, but they lost in the wildcard round both years. Miami has not won a playoff game in 24 years. Will this be the year they end that streak?
The Dolphins shed salary this offseason to get under the salary cap – losing some major contributors like defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel, cornerback Xavien Howard, and guard Robert Hunt. To reinforce the roster, the team brought in some veterans, including defensive tackle Calais Campbell, cornerback Kendall Fuller, and safety Jordan Poyer. They will also rely on rookies like first-round pick linebacker Chop Robinson, fourth-round pick running back Jaylen Wright, fifth-round selection linebacker Mohamed Kamar, and sixth-round pick wide receiver Malik Washington. (No offense to second-round tackle Patrick Paul, but the Dolphins are hoping for a red-shirt season from him this year, so he did not factor into this question.)
When we asked you for which new Dolphins player would have the best 2024 season, Fuller edged just ahead of Campbell, 24 percent to 23 percent. Wright came in third with 20 percent of the vote, followed by Robinson (19 percent), Washington (8 percent), and Kamara (4 percent). The veterans are expected to lead the way, but it seems like the fans expect the rookies to also have an impact.
